Here you will find a structured debrief guide for student teachers reflecting on a school internship abroad. Organised across eight thematic areas — including opening narrative, peer learning, mentoring, cultural dimensions and language — it supports deep, forward-oriented reflection on the internship experience. The guide can be used as a self-reflection tool (written or recorded) or as a structured conversation guide between a student and their university educator. It is intended for use at the end of the internship abroad. This is the condensed version of the guide; a full version with extended prompts and interviewer guidance is also available. Learning Objectives: - To be able to engage in structured, in-depth reflection on the full arc of the internship abroad, prioritising the why and how over descriptive narration. - To be able to identify and articulate formative experiences from the placement, including intercultural encounters, language challenges, and mentoring relationships. - To be able to connect the internship experience to their ongoing professional development and identify concrete next steps as a teacher.
