Description (learning objectives)
This open educational resource (OER) course supports music education students preparing for, undertaking, and reflecting on a school internship abroad (SIA). It brings together seven practical tools and reflective frameworks developed within the pan-European, Erasmus+-funded TEAM project (Teacher Education Academy for Music). The course covers all phases of a school internship abroad — preparation, placement, and debrief — and provides practical tools to support professional development and intercultural learning in an international, multilingual context. Materials include an introductory conversation guide, the Cultural Reflection Tree, tips for language-sensitive music teaching, photo journal and voice memo prompts, and a debrief conversation guide in both condensed and extended formats. Learning Objectives: - To understand the nature and opportunities of a school internship abroad as a context for intercultural and professional learning. - To know which course materials are relevant to each phase of the internship (preparation, placement, or post-internship). - To be able to navigate the OER course materials independently, selecting and sequencing resources according to one's own context and needs. - To be able to locate further research and resources related to the TEAM project for continued professional development.
-
Time required
Variable; individual OERs: it requires 20–45 minutes to grasp the content of each OER, but they are tools to refer to throughout various internship phases. Full course: approx. 3 hours.
