  • Beschreibung (Lernziele)
This open educational resource (OER) course supports university teacher educators who plan, facilitate, and supervise school internships abroad (SIAs) in music education. It brings together two sets of design principles and ten practical tools developed within the TEAM (Teacher Education Academy for Music) project, a pan-European, Erasmus+-funded design-based research initiative. The course covers all phases of a school internship abroad — preparation, placement, and debrief — and supports the university educator in addressing the distinctive challenges of an international, multilingual, and intercultural placement context. Materials include two sets of research-based design principles (for internship formats and for mentoring practice), introductory conversation guide for mentor and student teachers, a checklist for mentor teachers, and reflective tools for student teachers (Cultural Reflection Tree, Photo Journal Prompts, Voice Memo Prompts), Tips for Language-Sensitive Music Teaching for student teachers, and two versions of a structured debrief conversation guide for post-placement evaluation. Learning Objectives: - To be able to apply research-based design principles for planning, structuring, and evaluating school internships abroad in music education. - To be able to facilitate meaningful inter-institutional collaboration between sending and receiving institutions across all phases of the placement. - To be able to prepare student teachers for the intercultural, linguistic, and professional demands of an SIA, using appropriate pre-departure tools and frameworks. - To be able to brief and support mentor teachers at the host school in their role, drawing on the course tools as a shared reference. - To be able to support student teachers' intercultural learning and reflective practice during the placement. - To be able to conduct a structured debrief and final evaluation of the internship in dialogue with the student teacher, using the extended or condensed Debrief Conversation Guide. - To be able to integrate SIA tools flexibly into existing institutional structures, including Erasmus+.
